Transcend to the woodland of Shakespeare and merry England with FORIS; a verdant print depicting a grove of ancient oak trees. This luxurious British-made cotton velvet features lush greens against a backdrop of the darkest black and is perfect for upholstery and soft furnishings.

Each metre sold enables House of Hackney to purchase and protect 35 square metres of forest thanks to our partnership with the World Land Trust, the international conservation charity that safeguards our most vital natural ecosystems and threatened habitats, acre by acre.

House of Hackney is evolving from being a sustainable business to a regenerative one; where instead of just ‘sustaining’ life we actively heal and restore our business touchpoints and communities. Learn about how we’re putting people and planet first on our impact page.

Our Ethos

Our Factories

Our Factories

Designed with purpose, made with love and built to last. We don’t make ‘products’; we make 'future Heirlooms'. Unique, authentic pieces that are inspired by the past and designed to be passed down to the next generation.

Upon founding our House, we spent six months travelling the length and breadth of the UK in search of the country’s finest craftspeople. We are proud to still work closely with these small-scale, family-run businesses today – preserving specialist, age-old trades (not to mention local jobs) while delivering unparalleled quality.

Each design is a celebration of traditional craftsmanship and sublime artistry, made to stand the test of time. No wonder, then, that we call them ‘future heirlooms’

Our Impact

Our Impact

Since the day our House was built, a sense of compassion for people and planet has served as the foundation of everything we do. House of Hackney is evolving from a B Corp sustainable brand to a regenerative one. This means doing things differently to bring about social and economic change, promoting the restoration and regeneration of natural resources and social systems. It means going beyond simply ‘sustaining’ and instead, actively making things better.

From how our raw materials are farmed and the farmers who grow them to the craft people who make the finished product, our team who sell them and everyone and everything in between, it means ensuring people and planet are considered at every touch point. Read more.

Nature on Board

Mother Nature & Future Generations sit on our board of directors. House of Hackney has legally appointed Mother Nature and Future Generations to our board of directors. By giving them a voice and a vote they will hold us accountable for every decision we make with regards to our impact on the planet and people of today, and in the future. Read more.

Products & Materials

Products & Materials

From farm to furnishings, we ensure the natural world and the people within it are considered at every touchpoint. At House of Hackney, we’re all about making changes to protect the natural world and we are always seeking out ways to evolve our business that work more in harmony with Mother Nature. A big part of that is questioning the materials we use; are they the best available and can we do better?

As standard, our wallpaper is made using PVC-free, FSC certified, purposely grown materials, printed with water-based, environmentally safe inks and is made especially to order, reducing waste.

From natural mycelium products and sustainable cork materials to working with paper scientists to explore creating wallpaper from non-wood fibres, we are committed to discovering new material innovations and new ways of thinking and making products.
