House of Hackney is evolving from a B Corp sustainable brand to a regenerative one.
This means doing things differently to bring about social and economic change, promoting the restoration and regeneration of natural resources and social systems.
It means going beyond simply ‘sustaining’ and instead, actively making things better.
From how our raw materials are farmed and the farmers who grow them to the craft people who make the finished product, our team who sell them and everyone and everything in between, it means ensuring people and planet are considered at every touch point.
Nature on Board
House of Hackney has legally appointed Mother Nature and Future Generations to our board of directors. By giving them a voice they will hold us accountable for every decision we make with regards to our impact on the planet and people of today, and in the future.
Products & Materials
At House of Hackney, we’re all about making changes to protect the natural world and we are always seeking out ways to evolve our business that work more in harmony with Mother Nature. A big part of that is questioning the materials we use; are they the best available and can we do better?
From mycelium products and natural cork materials to working with paper scientists to explore creating wallpaper from non-wood fibres, we are committed to discovering new material innovations and new ways of thinking and making products.
Impact Report
We want to be accountable on our regenerative journey, that's why we are publishing our progress every step of the way. This shows our impact on the natural world, and the steps we are taking to protect it for the future.
Our Regenerative Journey
Since the day our House was built, a sense of compassion for people and planet has served as the foundation of everything we do.
Follow our journey, in our founder Frieda’s words, as we move from being a B Corp sustainable business, to a regenerative one. With the seasons, Frieda will share her journal of House of Hackney’s mission to leave our home better than we found it.
