We are so proud to be involved in the #WeAreNature campaign.
This is our first major campaign since appointing Mother Nature & Future Generations to our board last year, giving them a voice in all that we do. We have a responsibility to use our platform as a force for good and we believe in the power of creativity and collaboration to make a real change. We hope that #WeAreNature adds to the current momentum of action, so that we, as a society, can protect people and planet for those yet to come.

WHAT?
#WeAreNature is a grassroots movement to change UK dictionary definitions of the word nature to include humans, who are currently excluded.

With contributions from Chris Packham, Satish Kumar, Sir Partha Dasgupta, Poppy Okotcha, Rob McFarlane, Caroline Lucas MP, Ben Goldsmith and many more, the campaign is led by Lawyers for Nature & House of Hackney, and supported by a fast-growing group of organizations, charities, academics, artists, writers, politicians, activists and school children who believe passionately that humans are a part of Nature. We hope that amplifying this message will help us to protect the natural world, for ourselves, and for future generations.

WHY?
It is time to write a new story that includes us in the continuum of the planet we call home. We need to move from a worldview of domination and exploitation to one that honors our place in the ecosystem.
Our language, words and definitions have a huge impact and influence on society; our aim is that anyone searching for the meaning of nature will see there is a wider alternative and this could impact court cases, legislation and education.
As the current custodians of the planet, we have a deep responsibility and an opportunity to shift the course we are on and bring ourselves back to Nature. Only then will we begin to truly remedy our relationships with ourselves, each other and the rest of life on Earth.
