Inspired by sacred sea holly, this oceanic damask design wallpaper will bring a touch of Celtic charm to your space with its climbing petals and swirling leaves. A symbol of luck, perseverance and security, hang in your home as a protective talisman like in the days of old; the perfect print for bedrooms, hallways and any space on a threshold.
But this is not just any wallpaper, this is made from sustainable material, cork. Crafted from the bark of the cork oak, the trees do not have to be felled, and instead are naturally stripped, each oak able to be used for over 200 years. Our cork trees are farmed in southern Portugal, in a network of small farms supporting the local economy. The trees play an important part in the local ecology and act as a natural barrier for desertification.
Each roll of wallpaper sold enables House of Hackney to purchase and protect 35 square metres of forest thanks to our partnership with the World Land Trust, the international conservation charity that safeguards our most vital natural ecosystems and threatened habitats, acre by acre.
House of Hackney is evolving from being a sustainable business to a regenerative one; where instead of just ‘sustaining’ life we actively heal and restore our business touchpoints and communities. Learn about how we’re putting people and planet first on Our Impact page.

STEP 1: Measure the room
Before placing your order, be sure to map out the space where you would like the furniture to sit by laying masking tape or newspaper, corresponding to the design’s widest dimensions, onto the floor. You can find the dimensions of each House of Hackney piece under the ‘Product Details’ section of the individual product pages on our website. TIP: It’s a smart move to leave a little wiggle room either side of your chair or sofa, so that it doesn’t have to be wedged into place. Ideally, you want enough of a gap to walk around the piece – or nestle a side table or lamp next to it if desired.
STEP 2: Measure your home
Next, taking into account the height (H), width (W) and depth (D) of your chosen furniture, you will need to measure your home to ensure the piece can comfortably reach the room in which it will live – so think about the doorways, hallways and stairwells it will need to pass through to get there.
