In rosy ‘Blush’ pink, this handmade tile features a screen printed Jacobean hibiscus flower, blooming in classic porcelain blue against verdant green foliage.
Endlessly inspired by the Victorian age, House of Hackney’s tiles remain faithful to the era. Our earthenware tiles are hand-crafted nineteenth century reproductions, encompassing Britain’s long history of decorative crafts, reflecting the Victorian tradition and celebrating our eternal muse, Mother Nature.
Our tiles are crafted by world renowned ceramic tile makers, Craven Dunnill Jackfield, in the oldest surviving tile factory in the world, nestled in the heart of the English countryside.
Perfectly imperfect; over time the glaze will develop subtle surface crackling, called crazing. This happens naturally in ceramics and will in no way affect the durability of the tile - it’s just a part of the beauty of traditionally hand made tiles.

Over time ceramic tiles may craze which should be considered a characteristic rather than an imperfection of this type of tile.
Our tiles will have some colour variation as a result of our production methods or glazes, or their handcrafted nature. Where possible tiles should be laid out prior to fixing or taken randomly from several boxes to allow for blending of any shade variation.
Where possible, tiles should be ordered at the same time to ensure minimal colour variation.
We advise that an additional 10% of tiles are ordered to allow for cutting and wastage.
Our tiles are for decoration on walls only. They should not be used in working fireplaces and heavily used hearths. They are not waterproof and will need to be sealed if used in a bathroom or wet area.

STEP 1: Measure the room
Before placing your order, be sure to map out the space where you would like the furniture to sit by laying masking tape or newspaper, corresponding to the design’s widest dimensions, onto the floor. You can find the dimensions of each House of Hackney piece under the ‘Product Details’ section of the individual product pages on our website. TIP: It’s a smart move to leave a little wiggle room either side of your chair or sofa, so that it doesn’t have to be wedged into place. Ideally, you want enough of a gap to walk around the piece – or nestle a side table or lamp next to it if desired.
STEP 2: Measure your home
Next, taking into account the height (H), width (W) and depth (D) of your chosen furniture, you will need to measure your home to ensure the piece can comfortably reach the room in which it will live – so think about the doorways, hallways and stairwells it will need to pass through to get there.
