Continuing his spirit of creativity and collaboration, this capsule collection reimagines the legacy of William Morris for today. Weβve delved into the archives to dream up new versions of classic designs, with 3 designers who share our adoration of not just the prints, but the man behind them.
Featuring inspired perspectives from acclaimed interior designers, Ray Azoulay, Heidi Caillier and Pierce & Ward, this exclusive collaboration explores Morrisβ values of creativity with purpose, art for all and connection to Nature, with a touch of his irreverent spirit - proving his vision wasnβt just ahead of its time, but still leads the way.
2 of William Morrisβ most well-know prints, βComptonβ and βFoliageβΒ have been reinterpreted through colour, scale and updated designs, across 3 FSC Certified wallpapers and 1 British-made cotton-velvet fabric, bringing a fresh sensibility to his iconic motifs.
MEET THE DESIGNERS
Ray Azoulay
Ray Azoulay is the irreverent eye behind Obsolete, the cult-favorite Los Angeles interiors showroom where Ray makes magic from the margins of design history.Β
As a collector and designer, Ray curates spaces that blur the lines between past and present by envisioning antiques for the modern market, making them feel fresh, relevant, and undeniably cool.
Β Combining his love of antiques and theatrics, Ray has revitalised one of William Morrisβ most loved prints, βComptonβ (originally designed by John Dearle for Morris & Co in 1896). In a wallpaper and British-made cotton-velvet fabric, the iconic acanthus leaves, tulips and poppies intertwine in molten golds, verdant greens and pinks against a backdrop of blue-tinted βMidnightβ black, to evoke a rich sense of drama in any space.
βThe mood is classic, timeless, balanced.β

Pierce & Ward
Known for their richly layered, lived-in interiors, Los Angeles based design house Pierce & Ward was founded by Louisa Pierce and Emily Ward over a decade ago.
Guided by the belief that everything in a home should serve a purpose or have a story to tell, Pierce & Ward are perfectly aligned with William Morrisβ ideals.
Using neutral, contrasting tones of black and ivory, the design duo have reimagined William Morrisβ βComptonβ floral print. A nod to the noble craft of blackwork, COMPTON PARVUM is a scaled down version of the classic block printed design. In an FSC certified wallpaper, delicate acanthus leaves, tulips and poppies are emboldened by their inky linework, silhouetted against a backdrop of flaxen gold.
βWe always return to William Morrisβ belief that everything in a home should either have clear function or bring beauty, and ideally, spark conversation.β

Heidi Callier
A master of reinventing tradition, Seattle-based designer Heidi Caillier embraces historical references, natural motifs and unexpected contrasts to create spaces that feel intimate, storied and timeless.Β
Drawing inspiration from both her and William Morrisβ love of Nature, Caillier has reinvigorated Morrisβ Arts & Crafts print, βFoliageβ. Adding depth with an additional oak leaf motif, and texture reminiscent of the original block printed design, the warming tones of sepia brown, sage green and soft sky blue echo Caillierβs spirit of layered designs that are both classic and contemporary.Β
